I recommend taking herbal medicine every time rather than prescribed medicines. See a herbalist to start then buy direct from good UK Company.

I have been an ivillage subcriber for about a couple of years.
I am 72, divorced, and am living alone in Goa India having lost my home in London following a divorce suit filed by my wife.
Living in a 'foreign country' on one's own is trying especially in regard to remaining healthy.
I therefore make use of your advice quite frequently and find it very helpful. And it is free.
    I cannot thank you enough.
    Yours sincerely,
    LAKSHMAN PARDHANANI

I believe this site is geared to helping physicians and not patients. Providing all kinds of reasons why supplements are not helpful for various conditions seems suspect. Anyone can say that research has been done and yet many of these supplements have been helping many people for centuries!

Physicians treat people who are sick, so they are not interested in people who are well.

This fight against any alternative medications has been going on forever. People beware, and take charge of your own health!
